It just keeps on coming…

There’s always that time in the month were a bunch of problems just surface all at once when you least expect it. It always happens when you’re minds at ease and you feel like you’ve finally got your shit together but out of the blue one thing falls out of place then suddenly another and another then it just keeps on coming…

This morning on my way home I felt my car starting to shake a little as I drove. A few minutes later I heard a grinding sound coming from underneath my car. I was obviously worried but I thought that I could make it to the petro canada station on the corner of selkirk and mcphillips because I was a good 5 minutes away plus I needed to buy gas. The grinding and shaking gradually became worse as I continued to drive, at this point I was freaking out. When I finally got to the gas station I decided to park right in front of the store. I didn’t care if I was blocking any parking spaces, I NEEDED to know what was going on with my car. I stepped out and saw a group of guys inflating their tires. They looked at my car and said “hey you know your tire is falling of your rim”. I freaked out because when I looked at it the tire was literally half way off the tire. I didn’t know who to call. Luckily one of the guys were nice enough to help me out. He replaced my tire with a spare, all in 15 mins. Might I remind you that this morning was very cold; it felt like -12 plus some wind chill. My toes and fingers felt frost bitten and I’m sure their fingers were too. When the tire change was finished I hugged them all thanking them for taking the time to help me out. So anyway, lets fast forward. I went to Canadian Tire with my mom to buy some new winter tires to replace the broken ones. We found nice cheap ones that went for 60$ a tire. The problem was that we weren’t allowed to purchase two. We needed to purchase 4 tires, 2 was absolutely not an option unless we bought seasonal tires but those were much more expensive. Another thing was that the tires weren’t even the right size. If I decided to have taken them then I would’ve had a retarded line up of tires on my car. Two big ones in the bag and two small ones in the front. Just ridiculous. I also found out that car starter installation at canadian tire is 400$ and thats not including the starter itself, just the labor… That is ridiculous… I paid 100$ for the starter but I have to pay 400$ to get it installed? How about no.

So then I go to certigard hoping I’d find cheaper tires and better service. I did find better service but cheaper tires weren’t available at all. I got my car maintenance checked and found out that my car shouldn’t have passed the safety. My control arm which holds the front tires together was loose, my breakpads were thinning they were at 10%, there’s a leak some where and many of the tires have a hole in them. Summing up the total of all repairs came up to 1600$. Where am I suppose to get that money? Shit it out? I’d have to cut both my legs and arms off and sell them just so I can fix my car. Its ridiculous…

Christmas is coming, second semester is just around the corner, phone bill, car expenses… It just keeps on coming…
